Hello Darling! I believe that we are all adventurers, born with an innate sense to seek out the horizon and pursue the beautiful unknown. Life gives you seasons that you learn and adjust from always leading you to the next discovery. Along the way you find things that set your soul on fire and inspire you beyond what you thought possible. For RMB, we always knew Canada was on the horizon for us. We wanted to create something bold and beautiful for British Columbia and Alberta, and we are beyond thrilled to be able to see this gorgeous magazine come to life. Sarfry and Wilson crossed paths nearly seven years ago in a hair salon in Calgary. You see, Sarfry was new to the city and working part time when Wilson came in for a cut. Sarfry caught his eye immediately, and he couldn’t resist reaching out. The two met for coffee and started dating a month later! In August 2017, Sarfry and Wilson took a late summer getaway to Maui, just the two of them. Upon their arrival, Wilson surprised Sarfry with a helicopter ride around the island. Midway through the tour, the crew landed to take a break and check out the local sites. Just then Wilson grabbed Sarfry’s hand and led her to shore where he got down on one knee and pulled a ring from his pocket. Completely shocked, Sarfry regained composure before saying, “Yes!” They planned an elegant and symbolic wedding at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise for August 19th.

Sarfry, Wilson and their families performed a Chinese tea ceremony the morning of their wedding day. This traditional event symbolizes a family reunion. Overlooking the beautiful Lake Louise, their two families became one and the soon-to-be newlyweds were gifted a red pocket gift. It was so special for Sarfry and Wilson to plan the wedding of their dreams in a place that meant so much to them, while incorporating traditional ceremonies with their families.

I had a strong vision in my head for our wedding day, and she truly helped me bring the details and experience to life. With the ceremony location being so majestic on its own, Kay and I put our focus on turning the reception space into a wow factor. Our guests felt transported under a wave of flowing greenery. The design was truly the perfect balance between organic, modern and a little vintage.”

Jane + Chris tofino
Jane and Chris met through mutual friends while attending Simon Fraser University in Vancouver. Being in their own separate relationships, they got to know each other well as friends. After University, the two lost touch for a few years. Yet, they eventually reconnected over a lunch date on Granville Island. Chris stayed persistent with Jane, and the chemistry they always had flourished again. They found love. Nine years later, the couple planned a getaway for two to Tofino. Jane and Chris arrived at Long Beach just as the sun was setting that evening. Happy hearted, Jane immediately pulled out her camera and started snapping photos. Chris climbed a nearby boulder and begged Jane to join him to soak in the views. As she reached the top, Chris got down on one knee, pulled out a sparkling ring and asked Jane to spend the rest of her life with him. Completely shocked, she said, “Yes!� They planned an intimate and moody celebration at their favorite place for September 22nd.

a coastal crush When it came to Tofino, it was love at first sight. After their first trip, Jane and Chris just knew they were meant to come back to begin the rest of their lives together as husband and wife. Tofino is this unexplainably sacred place where the world seems to slow down. They wanted nothing more than to share the magic of the island with their closest friends and family on their wedding day.

Eight years ago, Caitlin and Michael first met at Hudsons, a local pub in Calgary. After one of Michael’s friends approached the girls, Michael just knew that he couldn’t leave without Caitlin’s number. Chemistry sparked immediately and the two texted back and forth for nearly a month. Finally, they agreed to a first date over Starbucks. Coffee led to dinner, and dinner eventually led to a movie night and a kiss! Caitlin and Michael fell in love shortly after. The couple dated for five years before making things official. On a summer day in Vermeer, BC, Michael got down on one knee, on the deck of Caitlin’s family cabin, and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. Breathless, she said, “Yes!” They planned a whimsical day in their hometown of Calgary for June 23rd.

The ladies used the getaway as the perfect excuse to go dress shopping. Upon their arrival, they made an appointment at Blush Bridal with their closest friends. That day, Caitlin tried on three dresses at the shop before finding “the one” - a stunning Hayley Paige off-white, ball gown. Caitlin felt like a princess and knew the dress was the wow factor she had been looking for!

Rheanna + Justin victoria
Rheanna met Justin through her sister who played on a softball team with him one summer. The two met briefly, yet not for nearly long enough. They waited patiently for their next run in with one another. Finally, Rheanna was invited to a teammate’s birthday party where Justin just so happened to be the DJ. They hit it off and came together easily! Three years later, the couple made a trip out to Toronto to visit friends. Upon their arrival they made plans to stop at a brewery just across from the beautiful Trinity Bellwoods Park. As Rheanna and Justin walked hand-in-hand along the winding path, Justin all the sudden lead her under a beckinging group of trees. Just then, he got down on one knee and asked Rheanna to spend the rest of her life with him. Completely blindsided, she said, “Yes!” Better yet, Justin hired a photographer to capture the moment! They planned an organic and intimate celebration at Bilston Creek Farm for August 4th.
